Aion 2 farming: What New Players Should Know

Farming is the word you will hear most in Aion 2 chat during your first weeks, usually without anyone explaining it. Here is what it covers, why people do it, and the rules worth knowing before you spend money or hours on it.

What players mean by farming

Farming means running the same content again and again for a resource you need: materials, currency, a gear drop, or progress toward a collection. It is not a menu option or a single system. In Aion 2, NCSOFT's Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG, which went global on 5 October 2026 after its Korean and Taiwanese debut in November 2025, almost any repeatable activity can be farmed.

That includes solo and group dungeons, larger raids, open-world enemies, and PvP such as arenas, cross-server realm-vs-realm fights and the Abyss, the faction battleground between Elyos and Asmodians that returns from the original game. Which of these is worth repeating depends on what you are trying to get, and that answer changes as patches arrive.

Five things to know before your first long session

  1. Many numbers are not settled. The level cap, gear tiers, stat values, drop rates and crafting professions have not been confirmed in a way this guide can rely on, so treat precise figures from forums with caution.
  2. The global version is new. Since launch, balance and rewards have been moving with patches, and a route that is efficient this week may not be next month.
  3. Your class shapes your routine. Aion 2 has eight classes at launch, from the Gladiator and Templar to the Cleric and Spiritmaster, and a class that is comfortable alone will farm differently from one built around a group.
  4. Fights are not static. Flight is part of combat and targeting is combined with positioning, so a farming loop still needs attention rather than autopilot.
  5. Your faction decides your company. You will group with players on your own side, so the guild and community you join matter for any farming that needs other people.

Common reasons new players farm

It helps to name the reason before you start, because each one points to different content:

  • Closing the gap to the next gear upgrade so harder dungeons become comfortable.
  • Building up materials or currency for upgrades you already know you want.
  • Preparing for PvP, where readiness for arenas or the Abyss can matter as much as raw level.
  • Working on collections or cosmetic goals that are slow by design.
  • Leveling an alternate character to try another class or role.

A new player who writes down one target per evening tends to see progress faster than one who repeats whatever is nearby. If a target has not moved after three or four sessions, the content you picked is probably the wrong source, and in-game guides or recent patch notes are the place to check before trying again.

Game mechanics versus paid assistance

Everything above is ordinary play: systems NCSOFT designs, tunes and supports. Paid assistance is a different thing. It covers someone else playing on your account, a stronger group carrying you for a fee, or buying currency and items for real money, and it sits outside the game's design.

Third-party sites group these offers into categories, and farming is usually one of them. If you want to see the full overview of how one such site arranges its farming listings, use it to understand the category, not as advice to buy. Compare what is described with NCSOFT's current terms before deciding anything.

Paying for boosts, account sharing, or real-money trading that involves currency or items can each break the game's terms of service. Penalties can range from removed items to a suspended or closed account, and a farmed reward you did not earn yourself can disappear with it.

Questions to ask before paying anyone

  • Does what is offered fit within the game's current rules, or does it depend on breaking them?
  • Will someone need to log in to your account? That is the highest-risk option.
  • Is the description specific about what you receive, rather than vague?
  • Are payment, refund and cancellation conditions set out in writing in advance?
  • Could a guild, a regular group or a few extra evenings get you the same result?

Making farming feel less like a chore

The players who stay with an MMORPG longest tend to farm in short, purposeful blocks and mix repetition with something different, such as a PvP match or a group run with friends. Decide what the session is for, stop when it is done, and resist the urge to chase one more drop late at night. Keep an eye on patch notes as well, because the most rewarding place to farm in Aion 2 is likely to shift several times as the global version settles.
